Blockchain Enhances Inclusivity, Offers Opportunities to Women, Introverts
Saro McKenna, the co-founder of the non-fungible token (NFT) game known as Alien Worlds and CEO of the Dacoco, has shared her views and experiences about inclusivity in the blockchain industry.
Having been in other male-dominated industries, McKenna posits that communities in the blockchain industry are very diverse. She argues that those working in blockchains are from multiple backgrounds and offer “unique perspectives and interests.”
Also, she noted that remote opportunities in the space provide women, who are considered caretakers of children, the right opportunity to move their careers forward. Here is what she had to say:
“Given women still tend to be the primary caretakers when they have children, this added flexibility means their careers might not take the hit to seniority that women’s careers sometimes suffer after they take time out to have children.”
Furthermore, McKenna indicated that the space empowered skilled workers who are not so confident by giving more focus on merit. The impact is the availability of more job opportunities, even for the shy ones.
“Because so much emphasis is placed on skills and merit in the blockchain space, I actually think that the barriers to entry are lower,” explained McKenna. But she insisted that there is still a hard tackle because they still have to master the courage to join. Even with this challenge, the space is very welcoming.

Metaverse Should Do More to Make the Space Safe for Women and Kids
About metaverse, McKenna said the community needs to double the effort to make it safer for women and kids. She also said that it comes with its own share of risks.
“The Metaverse is a social environment where people can obscure their real-world identities. It’s an environment where women and children have to be especially safeguarded,” expressed McKenna.
Meanwhile, Tim Draper, a billionaire Bitcoin trader, recently indicated that women might drive the next BTC bull run. He was expressing his thoughts on how greater acceptance of BTC could help push crypto adoption by women.
