TAG Heuer Partners with Bitpay, Now Accepting Crypto Payments
TAG Heuer, one of the globally renowned makers of luxury timepieces, has indicated it is now accepting cryptos for payment of its high-quality watches. Started over a century and a half ago in Switzerland by Edouard Heuer, the Techniques d’Avant Garde (TAG) said that its United States customers will now be able to buy watches and other accessories using different types of cryptos.
“With an increasing number of customers using or earning digital currencies regularly, TAG Heuer intends to be a key player in the imminent transformation of the e-commerce and retail spaces,” read a statement from the company.
The new crypto payments will be processed by Bitpay. Buyers can use about a dozen digital assets, including Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Dogecoin (DOGE). The top five stablecoins will also be accepted. Customers will be allowed to pay up to USD 10,000 per transaction in cryptos, and there is no minimum spending requirement.
According to Frédéric Arnault, the CEO of TAG, They have been following crypto developments closely since Bitcoin was introduced into the market. “As an avant-garde watchmaker with an innovative spirit, we knew TAG Heuer would adopt what promises to be a globally integrated technology in the near future despite the fluctuations,” Arnault added.
Bitpay, the Atlanta-based payment gateway, is designed to allow businesses to integrate cryptos into their operations. “We are excited to see global brands such as TAG Heuer investing in the crypto space and seeking the support of Bitpay to adapt their digital platforms to the rapid transformation of e-commerce,” explained Stephen Pair, the CEO of Bitpay.
TAG Heuer’s website now has a new pop-up that greets visitors, informing them that the firm is ready to receive payment in cryptos. Clients need to click Bitpay and then select the preferred crypto.
