United Arab Emirates (UAE) airliner, Emirates, has announced its plans to commence non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and experiences in the metaverse for both staff and clients. This launch targets to align the airline with the country’s digital economy and a new focus on virtual assets.
The First Project Already in Place, to Launch in Months
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) airliner has unveiled its plan for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and enthralling experiences for its workers and customers in the metaverse. The move rhymes with the current advances in the UAE digital economy and the digital asset initiatives.
In a statement released by the airliner, work on the first project has already started and the launch is only months away. Commenting on the Emirates NFT plans, Sheikh Ahmed bin Sayeed Al Maktoum, the chairman and CEO of the company, pointed out that the move highlights their focus on embracing advanced technology.
UAE’s Vision for a Digital Economy
In addition, Al Maktoum shared the objective of the Emirates for launching NFTs. Here is what he had to say:
“We are excited about the opportunities in the digital space of the future and are committing a significant investment in financial and resourcing terms, to develop products and services using advanced technologies that will deliver on revenue, brand experience, and business efficiencies.”
To set Emirates on a path to achieving its mission, Al Maktoum indicated that the airline’s future-themed Emirates Pavilion at the Expo is redesigned as a special hub to deliver top-of-the-range-future experiences in line with UAE’s long-term vision for the digital economy.
The statement from the airliner also indicated that Emirates would continue partnering on matters of Web3 strategy.
